Flexible working environment with Tetrix
This article is from an event organized by WildIsTheGame and Openfield , which took place in Paris on April 10, 2019. The workshop brought together 40 participants over a period of 2 and a half days and was carried out using 70 Tetrix cubes.
Before the actual session, the client and our team had designed a tall and elegant totem to be placed in the center of the space. This totem was to be both a symbolic place for participants to meet and exchange, as well as a knowledge wall to collect and display the group's productions.
Unfortunately, on the day of the event, the workshop coordinators realized that the location chosen to build the totem was the only space available to set up a plenary. With only a few hours to go before the session began, they had to get creative to come up with new ideas.
Tetrix cubes are designed not only to meet the needs of event tools, but also to provide freedom in creating spaces. This allowed the team to set up a new layout in record time. Instead of building a tower, they opted for a welcoming plenary, using Tetrix cubes as stools and decorative elements. With the remaining cubes, the team erected two portals framing the entrance, guiding newly arrived participants to their seats.
Note: We believe that the arrival of participants is a key and unique experience that deserves special attention.
Newcomers need to feel that the space they are entering is different, that they are leaving behind their daily routines and habits. Creating this rite of passage with two portals was a really successful idea.
Once the participants were briefed, each of them was given a Tetrix cube. They were able to use the six white sides of the board to write down their thoughts and, later, share their ideas with the group.
The next day, an evolving sculpture emerged in the plenary, as the scribe added key points and relevant messages. It was finalized just before the conclusion, allowing everyone to appreciate the amount of ideas collected and feel pride in having contributed to this project.
This session was remarkable for the way the team exploited the full potential of the cubes. From a symbolic sculpture to a welcoming arrangement. From a restitution support to an evolving knowledge wall. The cubes were able to adapt to all sorts of configurations and proved their great flexibility.
